The Pearls game material consists of one hundred pearl cards (in seven colours, each with a value of 0, 1, 2, 3 or 5) and ten pearl chain cards (value 4-9). The number of players determines which cards participate. Each player gets six pearl cards. The rest form a draw pile and an open offering with six cards. The active player must A) draw pearl cards or B) play pearl cards. When you draw cards (A) you choose one colour, take all the pearls of that colour from the supply in your hand and finally complete the supply to six cards. Your hard hand limit is always ten cards. When you play cards (B) you put one or more cards of one suit (possibly reinforced with jokers) in your scoring pile. If this equals the exact value of an available pearl necklace, you put that necklace on your scoring pile as well. The end is announced when the draw pile is exhausted or the last pearl necklace is taken. Then you count the value of the cards in your score pile and subtract the value of your hand cards.
Pearls is designed by Christian Fiore and Knut Happel. The game is suitable for 2-6 players aged six and up and has a playing time of 15 minutes.
